Rant: I chose a $40 pair of clippers over the $200 ones everyone pushes, and I haven't looked back.

After a year of using them on every cut, from fades to tapers, I've found the cheaper set holds its edge just as well and is easier to maintain, so what exactly am I paying the extra $160 for?

Honestly this feels like the rule for so much stuff now. You're paying for the brand name and the fancy box, maybe a warranty nobody reads. The expensive version often just has more marketing dollars behind it, not more quality. It's satisfying to find the tool that just works without the extra nonsense.

My old Wahl clippers from 2008 are still going strong, so maybe it's not that deep.
