PSA: Watched a barber in Portland use a straight razor on a kid and it made me sweat
I was passing through Portland last weekend and stopped in this little shop called The Shave Den on Hawthorne. Figured I'd just watch for a minute while waiting for my buddy. This older barber was giving a kid maybe 12 years old a straight razor shave on his neck and sideburns. The kid was squirming in the chair and the barber just kept talking calm like nothing was happening. I asked the guy behind the counter if that was normal and he said yeah they do it all the time for kids getting their first real cut. It looked super risky to me with the kid moving around like that. Has anyone else seen barbers using straights on kids that young or is that just a Portland thing?
