Just realized my clipper blade is getting way too hot after a long cut

I was finishing up a fade on a regular yesterday and noticed the blade was almost burning my fingers through the glove. Anyone else deal with this on older clippers or is it time to finally upgrade my Oster 76s?

Used a drop of Wahl clipper oil every 10 minutes when I had my old 76s. Made a huge difference. That zinc alloy heats up fast once the oil burns off. Also tried a cooling spray between heads, worked for a bit but wore off quick. If the blade is old and chipped, you might need a new one before replacing the whole machine.

Gotta admit, I used to just run mine dry and wonder why they'd smoke out after a while. Your post made me actually try keeping a little bottle of oil nearby, night and day difference honestly.
