Guy at a barber battle in Cleveland told me my fade guards were trash, and he was right
I was at a barber battle in Cleveland about 6 weeks ago and this old dude next to me watched me run my usual clipper over a client's sides then asked to see my guards. He pulled a magnet out of his apron, stuck it to my #1, and said "that's a $12 guard, bet it's off by a half size." Sure enough I tested it against a fresh one back at my chair and the taper was cutting a full step too high on the head. I've been going back over every skin fade I did with that guard for a solid month now. How are you all checking your guards without buying the $200 set?
