Vent: I killed 3 basil plants before I figured out my balcony gets way too much sun
I always thought my south facing spot in Denver was perfect, so when each basil turned crispy by July I just blamed myself. My neighbor saw the mess in June and said basil likes 6 hours of sun, not the 9 or 10 mine was getting, and that a cheap shade cloth would fix it. Is that for real? I'm thinking of putting it up this weekend but I don't want to baby them if the heat was never the issue.
