That convo with my neighbor about pot size hit different
She told me she plants everything in 5 gallon buckets and I laughed until I tried it on my peppers - 3 weeks later they're twice the size of my old ones from those skinny pots. Anyone else grow stuff in weird containers that actually worked better?

That 5 gallon bucket trick is no joke. My wife still laughs at me for growing tomatoes in an old bathtub I found by the curb, but those plants grew like crazy. Guess I'm the guy who recycles junk into garden beds now.

Haha I was totally the same way man. I used to think you needed all this fancy equipment and raised beds to grow anything decent. Then my neighbor gave me some squash seeds and I just threw them in an old plastic storage tote I punched holes in. That thing produced like 15 squash before it even slowed down. Now I'm out here drilling holes in random buckets and old laundry baskets, looking like a hoarder but my yard is basically a jungle. The bathtub thing is genius by the way, I bet that holds moisture way better than pots.
