My tomato seedlings got leggy until I pointed a desk fan at them...

I set a little usb fan on low blowing across my seedlings for a few hours a day and the stems got way thicker in under a week. Has anyone else tried wind stress on balcony starts or is that just me?

Wind stress just makes them waste energy growing stems instead of roots.

I mean is a little breeze really that big of a deal for the plant.
