My sister told me my balcony looked like a sad plant hospital

She came over last month and said I was cramming way too many pots into my 4x8 foot space in Atlanta, and the plants were all fighting for light. I moved half of them to a sunny wall and gave the rest away, and now my tomatoes are actually producing fruit. Has anyone else had to cut back on plants to actually get results?

My balcony in Austin was the same way, just a total jungle of sad herbs and one pepper plant that never grew. I got it down to three big pots instead of ten little ones, and the difference was crazy. The roots actually have room to spread out now, and the basil EXPLODED. Sometimes less really is more with plants.

Honestly, your basil story is like my whole life, always cramming too much in until it stops working.
