My entire herb tower gave out last Tuesday and sent basil everywhere

The plastic joints on my three year old GreenStalk vertical planter just snapped in a heavy wind, and all five tiers came down. I had to scoop up about two pounds of soil and salvage what I could of my Genovese basil starts. Has anyone found a metal vertical planter that can actually handle a gusty 7th floor balcony?

Oh NO that's the worst! I swear this is the story of modern life, everything is made of that brittle plastic that dies exactly one day after the warranty ends. I've seen it with garden stuff, kitchen gadgets, you name it. There's GOT to be a company making a sturdy metal one for people who don't live on the calm ground floor. My neighbor's cheap shoe rack outlasted my last "premium" planter.

Seriously? It's just a planter, not a life support system. Plastic stuff breaks, but it's also cheap to replace. Maybe we just expect things to last too long now.
