My basil plants all wilted in one afternoon
I was on my third floor balcony in Chicago last Tuesday when I saw all my new basil seedlings had gone limp. I'd used a cheap plastic pot from the dollar store that had no drainage holes, and a heavy rain had filled it up like a bucket. I had to quickly poke holes in the bottom with a screwdriver to let the water out. Has anyone else saved plants from drowning like this?

Did you get all the water out in time? Basil can bounce back from a good drowning if you drain it fast and let the roots dry out a bit. Next time, just drill those holes before you even plant anything.
