I blew $60 on those fancy self watering balcony boxes and my herbs drowned in 3 weeks
The soil stayed soaked no matter what I did and my basil and mint both turned to mush before I figured it out. A $4 bag of perlite mixed into regular potting soil did way more for drainage than those boxes ever did. Anyone else had luck with a cheap drip tray setup or should I just stick to hand watering?
