Spent $45 on a fancy pie crust shield and it melted in the oven
I thought I was being smart buying that silicone pie crust shield from a kitchen store near me last weekend. Looked great in the package, said it was heat safe up to 500 degrees. First time I used it on my apple pie last night, the thing just sagged and drooped onto the hot filling after 15 minutes at 375. Wound up with a mess of melted silicone and burnt crust anyway. Anyone else have luck with those metal ring ones instead?

Try using foil strips shaped around the edges instead.

Those foil strips seem like extra work for something that might not even need it. I've tried similar tricks with aluminum foil and tape and half the time it just peels off after a few days. Unless you're dealing with really bad reception or signal issues, I'm not sure it makes a difference big enough to bother with. Most people probably just need to move their router to a better spot instead.
