Saw a bakery in Portland with a whole case of 'ugly' but perfect pastries
They had a sign calling them 'wonky wins' and selling them for half price. I got a croissant that looked a bit flat but tasted amazing. Do other cities have bakeries that do this kind of thing?

Oh for sure, my local spot does a "second chance" shelf. You gotta ask for it though, it's kinda hidden. Best way to get cheap bread that's just a little weird looking.

Half price for a flat croissant? Did they forget to tell you it was just a fancy pancake? Sounds like a great deal for something that still tastes good, honestly. More places should try this.
