My neighbor told me to stop using my oven thermometer and just trust the dial
We were talking over the fence yesterday and she said, 'Ryan, you're overthinking it, just set it to 350 and walk away.' I've always used a separate oven thermometer because my dial is old. But last night I tried her way with a batch of chocolate chip cookies. They came out totally flat and greasy, like little puddles! I think my oven runs at least 25 degrees too hot. Has anyone else had a bad experience from ignoring their oven's actual temperature?

Read an article that said this feeling is super common. It's basically your brain hitting a wall after too much focus. A short walk outside usually helps reset things.
