My neighbor saw my flat cake and said it looked like a sad pancake

I was bringing a chocolate cake I made to a block party in my apartment building, and it had sunk in the middle. My neighbor Frank, who is about 80, looked at it and said, 'Son, that looks like a sad pancake that gave up on life.' I had to laugh because he was right. Oh I would have brought it anyway, a sad pancake cake still tastes good. My grandma once told me my bread looked like a loaf a bird sat on, which was weirdly specific. Frank's comment is way better, that's an insult with real imagination.
