My grandmother taught me how to properly cream butter and sugar when I was 12
She handed me her old hand mixer that weighed like 8 pounds and said "feel when it turns from yellow to almost white, that's when you know it's ready" and I still think about that every time I bake a batch of cookies, has anyone else had a moment like that with a family member that just stuck with you?

Why would you want to listen to advice on baking from someone who grew up with a hand mixer?

Oh man, guilty as charged - my hand mixer has seen better days and so have my cakes! But hey, unevenly mixed batter builds character, right?
