My $45 target pan was a total baking disaster
I bought this nonstick loaf pan from Target for like $45 last month... thought I was getting a solid deal. First time I used it for banana bread the whole thing stuck so bad I had to chip the loaf out with a butter knife. The coating started peeling after just three uses too. I'm sticking with my old $12 Nordic Ware pan from now on, that thing has lasted me five years. Anyone else get burned by a trendy expensive pan that didn't deliver?

Wild" is a bit much. I mean yeah, forty five bucks is more than you'd expect for a Target house brand pan, but it's not like we're talking about some high-end All-Clad here. I think the real issue is that people expect too much from nonstick coatings in general. They're all gonna fail eventually, whether you spent $12 or $45. The difference is your Nordic Ware is probably just plain aluminum with no coating, so of course it'll last forever. That $45 Target pan probably had some fancy ceramic coating that sounds good on the box but chips off just as fast as the cheap stuff.
