Had to choose between a stand mixer and a hand mixer for a big batch of cookies
I was making 6 dozen cookies for a school bake sale and my old hand mixer was struggling. I borrowed my friend's KitchenAid stand mixer instead. It handled the triple batch of dough in about half the time with no arm strain. Anyone have a good recipe that really needs that kind of power?

My grandmother's hand mixer from 1978 still handles my holiday baking just fine.

Oh man, do I know that feeling? My old hand mixer used to get so hot and smell like burning plastic trying to cream cold butter. It would just bog down and stop in thick cookie dough. Switching to a stand mixer felt like cheating, it was so easy. I can finally make those stiff gingerbread or shortbread doughs without feeling like my wrist is going to give out.
