Figuring out the right oven temp saved my batch of biscuits...

I kept burning the bottoms of my biscuits every time I baked them... it was so frustrating. I thought my recipe was off, but then I checked my oven with a thermometer. Turns out, it runs about 25 degrees hotter than it says. Now I lower the temp a bit and bake them on a higher rack. The difference is huge... golden tops and soft bottoms. I feel like I cracked a code or something. It's such a simple fix, but it made all my baking better. Next time your baked goods come out uneven, maybe give your oven a check too...

Watched my friend Sarah struggle with rock-hard cookie bottoms for months. She finally bought an oven thermometer and found her dial was off by like thirty degrees. Now her baking actually works, which just proves your point about checking the basics.

My buddy Mark kept burning pie tops while the filling stayed raw. He was ready to give up entirely. Turns out his old oven had a fierce hot spot right at the top. He started baking on a lower rack and it was a complete game changer for him.
