That $60 proofing box was a total waste, stick to your oven

Bought one of those fancy folding proofing boxes off Amazon last month for $60, figured it would finally fix my winter bread issues. It barely held 75 degrees, and the fan dried out my doughs surface in 40 minutes. My regular oven with the light on does the exact same job for free, honestly. Anyone else regret this purchase or find a trick to make those things actually work?

Mine hit 68 degrees and then the fan kicked on like a tiny jet engine, turning my dough into jerky in under half an hour. I threw a damp towel in there to fight the dry air, which helped a bit, but then the whole box smelled like a basement. Ended up using the oven with the light on anyway, so basically paid $60 for extra counter space for three weeks.

40 minutes for the dough to dry out? Thats wild, mine turned the surface into a cracker in like 20.
