My starter died after I left it out in a heatwave last July
My neighbor who's been baking for 30 years told me to keep it in the fridge during hot weather, but I thought I knew better. Took me 2 weeks to get a new one bubbly again, anyone else ruin their starter in summer?

Classic case of "I know better than grandma" syndrome haha. Mother Nature just humbled your starter hard with that heatwave, didn't she? Hope that neighbor got a good "told you so" moment out of it.

Keep that starter in the fridge during heatwaves and feed it cold water... takes the edge right off the temperature spikes.
