My stand mixer's bowl lock finally snapped mid-batch yesterday
I was making a double batch of brioche dough for a client order, about 4 cups of flour in, and the whole bowl just shifted and threw dough everywhere. The little tab that holds it in place sheared clean off, never had that happen before in 8 years of using this thing. Anyone have a fix for this or should I just start shopping for a replacement head?

Ugh, I feel your pain so hard. My mixer did the exact same thing last year while I was making a dense rye bread and I had flour all over my face and the cat. The little tab just gave up after a decade of heavy use, go figure. You might be able to find a replacement part online if you search by your model number, but in my experience it's usually the whole head that needs swapping because the lock mechanism is so integrated. I tried jb welding mine back on and it lasted maybe two weeks before it snapped again, which was just sad. Your mileage may vary, but I'd probably start shopping for a good used one on marketplace to save some cash.

Did you try looking up the part number for just the lock assembly on something like ereplacementparts? I had a similar issue with a different model, and they had a little metal bracket that was supposed to be stronger than the original plastic tab.
