My stand mixer tried to walk off the counter during a triple batch of cookie dough

I was making 6 dozen chocolate chip cookies for the school bake sale last Tuesday and my poor KitchenAid started hopping across the counter like a possessed frog halfway through the second batch. Had to literally sit on the floor and brace it with my hip while it finished mixing. Has anyone else had to wrestle their mixer for a big batch?

You said suction cups are just for show, but @the_brian, I've had great luck with mine on a damp counter.

Grabbed my mixer by the head one time and held it down with my whole body weight while it kneaded a double batch of bagel dough. Thought I was going to throw my back out for sure. That thing has some serious torque when it gets going and the suction cups are just for show. Now I always start big batches on a thick silicone mat to keep it from sliding.
