My first sourdough loaf actually rose after 3 failed tries
I started baking bread last month and kept getting hockey pucks with my starter (it was too cold in my kitchen, I think). Yesterday I finally got a decent oven spring and a crispy crust that cracked when I tapped it. Anyone else struggle with their starter being stubborn for weeks before it cooperated?

My friend just gave up on sourdough for like three months after her first three loaves came out dense as hockey pucks. Finally she nailed one with a perfect ear and she sent me a picture at like 11pm.
