Blew $45 on a dough scraper that turned out to be a $3 putty knife

Walked into a fancy kitchen store in Portland last Saturday and let the guy behind the counter talk me into a $45 stainless dough scraper. Got it home, used it once, and my bench scraper from the restaurant supply place does the exact same job for $3. The kicker is the blade is so thick it won't even get under sticky dough without lifting the whole board. Anyone got a scraper that actually works on wet dough or am I just supposed to keep burning money on shiny tools?
