Why does nobody talk about how loud a rooster can be at 4 AM?
Last month in my suburban neighborhood, my new Barred Rock rooster, Hank, started crowing before sunrise every single day. I had to give him to a friend with more land after three noise complaints from neighbors. Has anyone found a way to keep a rooster quiet without rehoming him?

You mention noise complaints, but did you ever try a dark coop to delay his morning crowing?

Tried the dark coop trick with my last rooster, it bought maybe an extra hour on good days. Honestly, it's a band-aid fix and they eventually just start crowing whenever they feel like it anyway. If you've got super close neighbors, you're still gonna get complaints once the sun's fully up. Ended up rehoming him to a farm because the stress wasn't worth it.
