Took me 3 months to figure out why my hens stopped laying in the coop boxes

Turned out the nesting boxes were too dark and I had to add a small solar light to get them to use the boxes again, has anyone else dealt with picky hens about nesting spots?

Wait, chickens got a say in lighting now? Mine totally stopped laying in the left box for no reason, just started using the right one. Had to switch spots.

Jana, you're speaking my language with that "stopped laying in the left box for no reason" thing - hens are basically tiny feathered divas with opinions on everything. I swear mine went on strike once because I moved their favorite stick two inches to the left (not even kidding, I measured). It's like running a little chicken hotel where they always want the same room or they'll complain loudly.
