The morning my rooster went silent for 3 hours
I was doing my usual 7am egg check last Tuesday when I realized Big Red hadn't crowed once, and the whole coop felt weirdly still. Turns out a raccoon had gotten under the run and spooked him so bad he hid in the nesting box, and 2 hens wouldn't come out either. Anyone else ever have a predator scare that shut down their flock's routine for a whole day and how long did it take yours to bounce back?
