Noticed my hens started laying bigger eggs after I switched their feed last fall

I swapped from a standard layer pellet to a fermented feed mix back in September after reading about it on a homesteading blog. Within about six weeks the eggs got noticeably larger and the shells feel thicker too. Has anyone else seen a change like this after changing feed?

Oh man I feel this in my soul. My girls do the exact same thing, like they're trying to prove a point when I complain about the small ones. What I started doing was weighing them on a kitchen scale instead of just guessing by size. You might be surprised because sometimes the ones that look huge are actually lighter and airier inside. Also check if they're getting enough oyster shell or crushed eggshells in their diet, that can make a real difference in shell thickness and overall egg weight. And don't forget some hens just lay bigger eggs as they get older, it's not always them being dramatic even though it totally feels that way.

Are you measuring them or just eyeballing it?
