My neighbor's $5 plastic bin changed my egg washing routine for good

I used to wash every egg right away with soap and hot water, but last month over at my neighbor's place in Tulsa I watched her just dry-brush the dirt off and leave them on the counter... now I only rinse the really nasty ones and it's cut my spoilage way down. Has anyone else switched to dry cleaning and seen a difference in how long your eggs keep?

Warm water and soap strips the natural bloom off eggs, that's the whole trick. Dry brushing keeps that protective coating intact so stuff can't get in. I switched about a year ago after losing a dozen to fridge funk. Now I just hit the dirty ones with a scuff pad and leave the rest alone. Way less waste, way less hassle. Your neighbor's onto something real.
