Just realized I was feeding my 6 hens on a schedule they never wanted
For 2 years I filled their feeder at 7am and 5pm every day like clockwork, until a raccoon knocked the whole thing over and spilled feed everywhere. They scratched and ate whenever they felt like it for 3 days straight while I waited on a new hanging feeder, and they seemed calmer and laid just as many eggs. Was I basically training them to gorge twice a day this whole time?
