Hit 100 eggs in a week from just 8 hens

I always thought my flock's production would drop off in the summer heat, but they proved me wrong. We're in Georgia and it's been over 90 degrees, but they kept laying like crazy. Anyone else see a weird spike when it got hot?

Wow, that's wild! It's funny how animals (and plants honestly) sometimes do the opposite of what you expect. My tomato plants always seem to have a last big burst of fruit right before the weather turns, like they're racing against the clock. Maybe your hens have that same kind of built-in hustle.

Oh for sure, I read something about that once. It was talking about how animals and plants can sense changes in daylight or temperature, and it kicks off this like, final push to reproduce or store energy. So your tomatoes and those hens are probably on the same page, just trying to get everything done before winter hits. Kinda cool how that works, even if it seems backwards at first. Makes you wonder what else we miss because it doesn't fit what we think should happen.
