Can we talk about the 6 egg week that made me rethink my whole flock?
Started with 8 hens last April and got 5 or 6 eggs a day for the first 3 weeks, felt like a genius. Then production fell to 1 or 2 a day and stayed there for a whole month. My neighbor Dave says it was just the shorter fall days, but I think it was the new feed I switched to in October. I track every egg on a whiteboard in the coop now, which my wife thinks is nuts. Anyone else keep a daily count, or do you just eyeball the nesting box?
