Was sure the Timberline Trail was overhyped by Instagram, hiked it in 3 days in July and ate my words
Kept seeing pics of that loop around Mt Hood and figured it was all crowds and staged sunsets, so I put it off for 3 years and did the Eagle Creek stretch instead. Then a friend from Portland dragged me out there in July and we did the whole 40 miles in 3 days, and the stretch past Ramona Falls and up to McNeil Point honestly beat anything I'd done in the Wallowas. So which is it, are the famous routes actually worth it or do they just get talked up because people only post the good frames?
