That old guy on the Appalachian Trail near Roan Mountain stopped me cold with a warning about water sources drying up
He pointed to a creek on my map and said he'd crossed it bone dry at 10am, then showed me a photo from his phone of the same spot from five years ago where it was knee deep. Anyone else run into unexpected dry sections on routes you thought were safe?

Wait, you already started doing it @nancy_miller? That's wild. I thought people were just joking about filling up their bathtubs. How many bottles are we talking here, like a couple or a whole corner of your garage? I can't imagine hauling all that water from the store, my back hurts just thinking about it. But honestly, after reading that thread about the supply lines, I get why you'd want some backup. It's probably smart to have at least a few gallons stashed away just in case.
