Spent $400 on ultralight tent stakes. Total mistake.

Bought those fancy titanium V stakes for the PCT last year. Thought they'd save weight. First real windstorm in Oregon bent three of them. Had to use rocks to hold my tent down the rest of the trip. My buddy's $20 aluminum stakes from Walmart held up fine. Anyone else regret spending big on gear that just didn't work?

Those bent stakes are definitely your fault for not getting the right ones for the conditions. The cheap twisted aluminum ones actually hold up way better in rocky or windy spots.

Haha fair point @logan_dixon18, maybe I just needed to blame the dirt and not my poor choices.
