Saw a hand painted sign at the Roan Highlands trailhead warning about the 'wrong' way up
Was up at Carvers Gap last weekend and someone had tacked a note to the kiosk saying the spur trail past the shelter dumps you onto a bald with no water for 6 miles. I looked at my map and it kind of lines up with the route I was planning. Made me wonder how many people roll in there without checking a topo. Has anyone else seen informal signs like that on the AT section, and did you trust them?
