Rant: Overheard a guy at the trailhead in Sedona say he 'did the whole West Fork in two hours' and it just made me sad.

My cousin timed his whole trip to the Grand Canyon once, like it was a race. He missed the way the light changed on the rocks. I mean, the point of West Fork is the little things, right? The cold water on your feet, finding that perfect striped rock. Doing it fast just turns it into a workout. Maybe it's just me but that sounds like a total waste of a beautiful place.
