Was convinced those new fiber optic testers were overkill for our regional shop.
Had a stubborn intermittent fault on a Citation's databus that a standard meter missed for a week. The fiber unit pinpointed a micro-fracture in ten minutes. Anyone else made the switch and found it worth the initial cost?

Used to think they were just for big shops with deep pockets. Had a similar thing with a weird CAN bus gremlin on a van, kept dropping signals. Our old gear showed nothing. Borrowed a buddy's fiber tester, found a tiny bend in the line causing a weak spot. Totally changed my mind on the cost being worth it.

Man, I feel that. I spent way too long chasing a phantom voltage drop with my old meter that just couldn't catch quick spikes. How much time and money did I waste before finally getting a decent scope?
