Unexpected voltage reading on a 737 pitot probe, what did I miss?
Last week I was bench testing a pitot probe from a 737 and got a wild resistance spike on pin 3, so I swapped in a known good unit and it read clean. Turns out my test lead had a broken shield wire, which was picking up interference from the shop fan nearby. Has anyone else run into phantom readings from test lead shielding, or is there a better way to verify a probe without chasing your own gear?

The broken shield wire, no way. That's such a sneaky one, I bet half the weird readings people chase come from that exact thing. Shop fan interference is brutal too, but who even thinks to check their own cable first?
