Talking to a veteran tech made me rethink my whole avionics approach
I had a chat with a guy who's been doing this since the 80s, and he told me I rely too much on digital test equipment. He showed me how he can trace a fault on a complex bus using just a logic probe and a schematic, and it hit me that I've been skipping the fundamentals. Anyone else feel like modern gear is making us lazy troubleshooters?

Dude, same here! I had a moment last year when I was stuck on a weird intermittent fault and some old timer handed me a beat-up analog multimeter and within five minutes I found the issue. It really made me realize how much I lean on all that fancy digital stuff without actually understanding what's happening. These days I try to start with the simple tools first and save the gear for when I really need it.

Guess I've been using my digital scope as a fancy paperweight while the real troubleshooting was hiding in a drawer with a probe. Old habits die hard, but apparently so do new ones.
