Switched from crimp connectors to solder for my last harness build
I always thought crimping was faster and just as reliable on small gauge wires. Then I had three pin connections fail in a row during a bench test on a King radio tray. Now I solder every signal wire after that experience, has anyone else run into intermittent crimp issues on thin gauge stuff?

Oh man, don't even get me started on crimp connections failing on small gauge wire. I swear those little pins have a personal vendetta against me.

That "personal vendetta" line hits close to home. I spent an entire weekend chasing an intermittent drop on a audio panel before finding a crimp that looked perfect but had the insulation caught in the barrel. Was that what you saw with yours where the pin looked fine but the wire slid out with a tug? I switched to a different brand of crimper after that and it got better, but never perfect. The really thin stuff just seems to have no margin for error.
