Switched from a multimeter to a DMM and it saved me 2 hours on a 737 nav fault

I used to always grab my old analog multimeter for troubleshooting since it's what I learned on. Last Thursday I had a persistent nav fault on a 737 that kept pointing to a wiring issue in the wheel well. A younger tech suggested I try his Fluke 87V digital multimeter to test resistance on a long run. The auto-ranging and peak hold caught a bad splice I would have missed with my analog gear. Anyone else have a tool they swore by for years until something better came along?

Blew my mind switching from a crescent wrench to a ratchet... sometimes we're just stubborn, I guess.

Jumped from my old torque wrench to a digital one on a lark and it's the same kind of revelation. The analog one just beeps and I'd second guess if I'd actually hit the right torque. The digital one shows the actual number and holds it there, so I can see exactly where I landed. It's wild how we get stuck in our ways with tools, like that friend who still uses a flip phone because it's "reliable". But once you see how much faster and more accurate a simple upgrade makes things, it feels silly not to have switched sooner. Have you noticed that in other areas besides tools, like the way old habits in scheduling or note-taking can hold you back too?
