Showerthought: calibration stickers only matter to the guys who put them on
I used to roll my eyes every time a senior tech at our hangar in Phoenix would re-torque a connector just because the date on the sticker was a week old. Then last Tuesday I caught a faulty pitot probe on a Citation that tested fine in the box but read 12 knots off on the bench. The old guy just looked at me and said 'stickers are proof, not protection.' Now I trust the paranoid ones, they catch the stuff that sneaks past the numbers. Anyone else have a mentor whose obsession turned out to be the real deal?
