Picked the cheaper power supply for a G600 standup and regretted it instantly

Had to choose between a $200 aftermarket supply and the $850 OEM part last month at a shop in Houston, and I went cheap to save the boss money. Now the radios are flaking out on every other flight and I'm spending twice the labor trying to trace faults. Anyone else deal with these knockoffs causing gremlins?

Used to be one of those guys who thought OEM was a total scam and aftermarket was the same guts for half the price. Then I slapped a cheap supply into a King Air 200 and spent three weekends chasing a radar altimeter that kept dropping out on approach. Ended up being the knockoff supply throwing noise on the 28V bus. Swapped it for the real deal and the problem vanished. Changed my whole outlook on those parts.

Is the noise floor really that much worse on the cheap ones? I guess if Cameron had that bad of a time with a King Air, that pretty much settles it for me. OEM might cost more but chasing gremlins is a nightmare.
