My take on digital pin testers for bizjet harnesses
Been using a Fluke for 15 years on Gulfstream harness work, but last month I tried a digital pin tester on a G550 wing harness. Found 3 intermittent faults in 2 hours that would've taken me all day with a meter. Anyone else seeing better results with those newer handheld testers?

Oh boy, here we go again with the latest gadget hype. I've been turning wrenches on bizjets for over 20 years and I've seen a dozen "game changers" come and go. A digital pin tester sounds fancy, but I bet it's just another tool that'll break after six months or need constant software updates. That Fluke you've been using has been reliable through rain, mud, and hangar floor abuse. I'm not saying the new stuff has no place, but finding three faults in two hours sounds like you got lucky, not that the tester is magic. Let's see how that thing holds up after a few hundred hours of actual line work, not just a single test on a clean harness.
