Lost my AHRS sync on a night flight out of Boise, and a $3 connector pin saved me from grounding the bird
Two years back I was doing a pitot static check on a King Air in Boise when the AHRS threw a sync fault on the right side, and nothing in the manual pointed to a bad pin. I spent four hours chasing grounds and swapping LRUs before I pulled the connector behind the panel and saw a pin that had backed out just enough to lose contact under vibration. Pushed it home with a dental pick, did a wiggle test, and the fault went away for good. Back in the day we would have just re-pinned the whole connector, but now everything is sealed and you have to be surgical. Anybody else seeing pins creep out on these newer harnesses, or is it just me?
