I know everyone loves the fancy digital test sets, but my old Fluke 77 from 1998 found a fault the new unit missed.

It's wild how that applies to everything these days. New stuff is always trying to be clever and do ten things at once while the old reliable just does one thing right.

Honestly, that's the best kind of humble brag. My old meter is like a stubborn old dog that only barks when there's real trouble. The new ones are so busy looking for fancy problems they miss the simple stuff right in front of them. Tbh, my daily driver is a beat up old thing with duct tape on the case. It just feels right in my hands, you know? I'd trust its weird little flickering reading over some fancy digital guess any day.
