I finally matched a wiring diagram to the actual rack in a King Air 200 yesterday and it only took me 4 hours
I was up in Wichita last week helping a shop sort out a King Air 200 with a flaky fuel gauge and the paperwork was a mess, three revisions of the same harness print all stacked on top of each other. Spent about 4 hours on my back under the panel with a flashlight tracing pins one at a time until I found a splice that didn't show up on any of the drawings. Turns out a shop back in 2011 had rerouted two wires around a connector and never updated the print, which is why the last two guys gave up on it. The gauge reads solid now and honestly the win was less about the fix and more about proving the diagram was the liar, not me. I marked up a fresh copy with red pen and taped it inside the panel door so the next person doesn't lose a day to the same ghost. Anybody else keep a running list of airplanes where the paperwork and the rack don't agree? I'd love to know how you flag it so the next tech actually sees it.
