Heard a guy at Autozone say he never uses a torque wrench on lug nuts, made me think about my own bad habits
Was picking up brake cleaner at the Autozone on Van Nuys Blvd last Saturday and overheard this older guy telling the kid behind the counter that he just hits lug nuts with the impact until they feel tight. I used to do the same thing until I snapped a stud on my 04 Silverado about 2 years ago and had to drill it out in the driveway. Finally bought a $40 torque wrench and set everything to 140 ft lbs like the manual says, no more guessing. Anyone else got a tool they put off buying way too long?
